Obama Grill: Great Grilled Seafood with a Great View of Boracay

Though I've been to Boracay a number of times, I would have to admit that this was my first visit to Obama Grill. I've always seen it from the outside, but always ended up someplace else after. It was already 1PM when we arrived, and this was going to be our first meal at the island.

For me, there is always something special about your first meal at the place of your vacation. It's like... it's literally welcoming you, or that it signals the true start of your holiday. We were glad to get a good dousing of aircon once we stepped inside... but we were also immediately greeted by this priceless view of the sea (though there was this pop-up tent for C2 slightly blocking our view, there's still so much seascape to see anyway!).

We started off with some baked clams, smothered with cheese on top. Man, you couldn't go wrong with these! And of course with salted egg, mango, tomato, and onion salad.

We also ordered some stir fried vegetables with beef, to go together with our main dish: grilled tuna!

This slab of grilled tuna belly was really great. Of course, when you look at the photo, it seems that it looked pretty small when you place it beside the utensils + sauces... but don't get me wrong, it was really meaty and filling. And I guess with a view we had, coupled with the joy of officially being on vacation, this tasted so good!

We capped off our meal with pineapples and bananas! The pineapples and bananas aren't exceptionally sweet or juicy... but I love the presentation. I'll go try doing this one day.

If our stomachs would only permit us to eat more dishes, we'd probably order more grilled seafood. I really enjoyed our lunch here, and assuming that they weren't totally affected by the road widening that's happening all over the island, I'd love to come back here again for round two!

On that note, allow me to leave you with this wonderful photo above of people enjoying the sunset, several hours later.
