Hi, my name is Miko and I run this blog (obviously, the name of the blog says it all).
My passion for food started out when I started living in Singapore. When I moved in 2008, I thought I'd get to start working right away. Little did I know that the recession was kicking in, and that finding work would take way longer than I expected or hoped for. There were days I had nothing to do, so out of curiosity I decided to try cooking for the first time.
I was a little ambitious and decided to replicate some curry soup based on what I had seen from hawker stalls outside. I kid you not... that day I made the worst possible noodles ever (in my mind, I thought you could eat curry leaves straight up, just like how you would do for Vietnamese noodles. Apparently not). Anyway, through time (and a lot of mistakes later on), I learned how to cook better food. It started out with pastas... which later graduated to risottos, and then over to other experiments in the kitchen!
I suppose, after appreciating how things are cooked, you take greater attention to flavours and experiences you get when you eat out. And that's how I decided to start this blog, as well as the other food reviews I run here.
I hope you find value in the posts, and that you end up finding the best places to eat, wherever you go!
