My high school classmates and I usually end up meeting at Eastwood City... partly because one couple lives here, two of us live along Katipunan Avenue, while another lives all the way in the South (I suppose this is the most convenient option, considering it's just C5 that he has to traverse through). They recommended that we try Annam Noodle Bar, which was actually a franchise from Singapore, c/o the Les Amis Group.
For starters, we ordered some calamares. It was great, slightly a bit oily, but it had about the right amount of spice in it! It was tremendously enjoyable. And in case you're wondering, we shared this as an appetizer!!
I ordered some pho... but opted to change up the noodles to ramen. I was curious to try something a bit different... and you know what, it didn't disappoint! I loved every single bit of it!
That day, I was extremely hungry so I opted for a banh mi. There is something about banh mi I just love... and it's all got to do with the bread. Somehow, most baguettes I have are too hard (as opposed to being soft and crunchy at the same time)... but not banh mis! I totally enjoyed this one a lot!
Personally, I was happy to have an alternative to the usual Pho Hoas or Ba Nois of Manila. I wish I could frequent Eastwood more often, so that I'd have an excuse to come here regularly.
Note: Apparently, Annam Noodle Bar has permanently closed down :( Unfortunately, I hadn't had the opportunity to visit them since I wrote this article two years ago.
