I finished work 1.5 hours ahead of schedule and I was too tired to head back to the office (also, if I took Grab back, by the time I reach the office I'd probably end up spending more time in traffic than at work) so I thought to kill time at Caravan Black at the Net Park building.
It was a strange hour... if I ate anything I might spoil my appetite for dinner, but if I didn't I'd go quite hungry. I didn't want sweets either... so the usual cookies I'd order was a no-no this time 'round. The menu of Caravan Black seemed heavy: pastas, grilled sandwiches, etc. Though what stood out for me was the sweet chori burger (Php 370).
I first encountered a chori burger in Boracay... and it pretty much popped out everywhere after that. And to my recollection, I always found chori burgers light. True enough, that's what came on my plate!
It was a small-sized burger, which was exactly what I was looking for. I placed my two hands to hold the bun, and was amazed at how soft it was. When I took a bite, the immediate thing that caught my attention was the complexity the slaw gave. Honestly, I barely tasted the chorizo burger but that's not entirely a bad thing. It was a good blend, and the merging of those two flavours went really well together. A lot of the juices from the burger patty + the sauce dripped all over my plate. So naturally i'd smother the sauce that dripped back to the bun / burger. It was pretty delicious.
These days, I've also adopted this habit of looking at Instagram before ordering something on the menu. I was later surprised to learn that the sweet chori burger didn't originally come with home made chips. It normally came with a small side of potato salad. But I guess they didn't have stock hence the substitute.
Anyway, it was a nice, quick meal. Again, not too filling and you wouldn't feel gross eating it either. It's definitely something I'd do again if I found myself in a similar snack situation!
