Since a major online sale is on its way tomorrow, Sarah had to spend her Saturday at the office~ so we thought it would be best to grab lunch together to make the day feel less like work! We decided to get lunch at Green Pastures over at the Net Park building in BGC (might I add, we had really good weather today, so walking over to Net Park was actually a pretty enjoyable experience).
We grabbed a seat by the elevated portion of Green Pastures... which gave a pretty "scenic" glimpse of BGC. It was a different view from what we normally see and experience with Green Pastures, so it was a welcome change of scenery.
We decided to get the large portion of the Avocado Greens salad bowl (Php 665). It was massive... and it really had a whole lot of avocado too! It contained mesclun, konbu roasted chicken, avocado, corn, grape tomatoes, tortilla crisps, red onions, and this lime vinaigrette.
I was really colorful... and it was so pretty that we didn't want to mix it all right away. So we both agreed to take away chunks of the dish first... before finally mixing everything down. Anyway, this salad was really delicious. It would make you think twice to say salads are boring!
The other thing we ordered was the Yellow Fin Tuna Fillet Burger (Php 530). It came with a side of sweet potato wedges, and this really nice salsa. The sweet potato wedges had this sweet paprika spice sprinkled all over it. It didn't taste like your typical kamote fries, which made it pretty enjoyable to eat. And oh, about the salsa... it felt fresh! Meaning... you could taste that it wasn't overly salty like ketchup would be. And it just gave off just the right amount of zest and twist as a condiment.
The buns were apparently made out of potatoes. It was really really soft, and it had these great charred texture inside the bun. When you pressed your hands against the bun, it would practically deflate. It was that soft!
The tuna fillet itself was pretty thick! I really felt I was biting down on a slab of meat (yum)! Sarah wasn't entirely a fan... mainly because she believes burgers should be made of out beef. But from my perspective, I really appreciated the taste and texture of this tuna fillet, considering I've been eating a couple cans of tuna lately... and it doesn't taste anything as good as this!
The tuna fillet burger also had this asian slaw and ginger sesame mayo infused in the sandwich. It was such a nice complementing flavor! I was sharing with Sarah that it felt like eating sushi... especially the part when you start dipping the sushi to the soy sauce, and how adding in a bit of it really enhances the flavor. The experience tastes a lot like that!
We were full from eating lunch... but it didn't give you this gross / bloated feeling after. I decided to order an Americano (Php 120) and it came in this artisanal-type ceramic mug with a packet of organic coco sugar. I skipped the sugar altogether and just enjoyed the coffee. For Sarah, she mentioned it was like the experience of drinking coffee in the province - it's a lot like being on a vacation and how coffee tastes a lot better under those circumstances!
Well, with the nice weather & view we had, plus a semi-slow work pace, I suppose it did feel like a nice lunch retreat. I think this must've been my 4th or 5th visit to Green Pastures, and I've been consistently happy with the food I've ordered each time. I really love this place!
